Eugene Vorontsov

Eugene Vorontsov has a diverse work experience in the field of research and academia. Eugene is currently working as a Research Scientist at Paige since July 2021. Prior to that, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at Polytechnique Montréal from July 2020 to July 2021. Eugene also worked as a part-time Research Intern at Microsoft Research from February 2019 to May 2019.

In 2018, Eugene gained research experience through internships at NVIDIA and Microsoft Research. At NVIDIA, they worked as a Research Intern from June 2018 to December 2018, and at Microsoft Research, they held the position of Research Intern from March 2018 to May 2018.

Before their internships, Eugene was involved in academic collaborations and teaching roles. Eugene worked as a Collaboration (MedTeq) at Imagia Cybernetics from September 2015 to December 2017, focusing on liver lesion segmentation in CT using deep learning. Eugene also served as a TA / chargé de laboratoire at École Polytechnique de Montréal in various subjects such as AI, probabilistic techniques, learning, and medical robotics. Additionally, they supervised a student intern and coordinated the development of an educational toolkit for a course on medical robotics.

Eugene's early work experience includes being a TA / répétiteur at École Polytechnique de Montréal for a course on medical robotics from December 2013 to April 2014, and an intern at ÉCOLE POLYTECHNIQUE DE MONTRÉAL from January 2013 to April 2013.

Eugene Vorontsov completed their education at the University of Toronto, where they obtained a B.A.Sc. Eng. Sci. degree between 2007 and 2012. Eugene major in Biomedical Engineering during their studies. Following this, they transferred directly to Polytechnique Montréal to pursue a PhD in Computer Software Engineering. Eugene started their doctoral journey in 2013 and successfully completed it in 2020.
