Arun Bhaskar

Dr. Arun Bhaskar is a leading consultant in pain medicine in London, who holds a special interest in complex pain, including neuropathic pain, cancer pain, visceral and pelvic pain, pain interventions, and neuromodulation. He also holds a particular interest in opioid management in complicated cancer pain and opioid dependence and its management in the pain patient population.

Dr. Bhaskar is the President-elect of the British Pain Society and has served two terms as an elected member of the Council of the British Pain Society and also chairs the Communications Committee. He is also the Hon. Secretary of the Neuromodulation Society of UK and Ireland and the Chairman of the UK Section, World Institute of Pain. Dr. Bhaskar is currently the Co-chair of the Committee for the Cancer Pain Management Guidelines; he is also the Co-chair of the Neuromodulation Guidelines Committee. He also represents the UK as Councillor at the European Pain Federation and is a member of the European Pain Federation Task Force on Cancer Pain Management. Dr. Bhaskar is the Co-chair of the OPEN Consensus group for Opioid Analgesic Dependency.
