Tom McHenry has a long and varied career in software engineering and web development. Tom began their career in 2005 as a Web Site Assistant at the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, where they produced and disseminated bi-weekly membership e-mail newsletters, developed content for all areas of the AAPD websites, and served as a liaison with the website vendor. Tom then moved on to become a Web Editor, Magazine and Web Editor, and Magazine and Web Manager at the same company. In 2010, they began freelancing as a Web Designer. In 2013, they became a Game Developer, writing, developing, producing, and designing several successful independent video games. In 2015, they became a Web Developer after graduating from Dev Bootcamp, a 19-week intensive training program for aspiring web developers. In 2016, they began working at Home Chef as a Software Engineering Intern, then a Software Engineer, and finally a Senior Software Engineer. In 2021, they began working at Stripe as an Individual Contributor. Finally, in 2022, they began working at Pair Eyewear as a Senior Backend Software Engineer.
Tom McHenry's education history includes attending Dev Bootcamp from 2015 to 2016, where they studied Web Development. Tom then attended Warren Wilson College from 2005 to 2008, where they earned a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Fiction. From 2003 to 2005, they attended Purdue University, where they earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) in English Literature. Finally, they attended Purdue University from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with a dual major in Fine Art and English.
