Zia Ur Rehman Farooqi

Chief Engineer at Pakistan National Shipping Corp

Zia ur Rehman Farooqi has a long and diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Zia ur Rehman started their career in 1977 as an Engineering Apprentice at the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation. Zia ur Rehman then took on the role of Marine Engineer at the same company from 1980 to 1984. In 1985, they joined The General Tyre and Rubber Company of Pakistan Limited as an Assistant Mechanical Engineer. Zia then returned to the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation in 1991, where they worked as a Marine Engineer until 2005. During their time there, they also held the position of Chief Engineer from 2009 to 2015. In 2005, they joined Port Qasim Authority as a Marine Engineer, and later became the Chief Engineer from 2009 to 2015. Zia then returned to the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation in 2016 as the Chief Engineer, where they are currently employed.

Zia ur Rehman Farooqi completed their graduation in Marine Engineering from the Pakistan Marine Academy from 1975 to 1977. Zia ur Rehman later pursued a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Marine Sciences from NED University of Engineering and Technology, completing it from 2006 to 2010. In addition to their formal degrees, they received a certification as a Class 1 Engineer from the Education Department Government of Pakistan.
