Parker VanValkenburgh is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at Brown University since June 2015 and previously held the position of Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Vermont. Parker serves as a board member for the Public Archaeology Laboratory, contributing to cultural resource management in New England. As Director of both the Paisajes Arqueologicos de Chachapoyas Research Project and the Proyecto Arqueológico Zaña Colonial, Parker has led significant archaeological and ethnohistorical research in Peru, focusing on the impacts of Spanish conquest. Parker's academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Harvard University and various fellowships and academic positions, including postdoctoral work at Washington University in St. Louis and a junior fellowship at Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collections.
