Ben Scherzer

Senior Paleontologist, Redlands at PaleoWest

Ben Scherzer is a Senior Paleontologist at PaleoWest and has been in the role since August 2021. Prior to that, they were a Paleontologist at Michael Baker International from April 2021 to August 2021. Ben has also worked as a Paleontologist at VCS Environmental and Chaffey College. Ben has been working in the field of paleontology for over 8 years and has experience in paleontological monitoring for housing construction, solar field construction, highway development, public utility development, and power transmission development. Ben has also assisted with paleontological reports.

Ben Scherzer has a MS in Earth Sciences from Montana State University-Bozeman and a BA in Geosciences from Earlham College. Ben also has certification from the Bureau of Land Management in BLM Survey permit, Compliance Solutions in 40 hr HAZWOPER and Respirator, NV Energy in Desert Tortoise Training; Environmental Training, Oilind Safety in H2S Training, International Association of Drilling Contractors in Rig Pass HSE Orientation, and Wilderness Medicine Institute in Wilderness First Aid; Adult/Child CPR, AED & Airway Management.
