Bert started their career as an Engineering Manager at Wick Building Systems, Inc. from March 1977 to September 1982. Bert then moved to Fuqua Homes, where they served as the Engineering/Service Manager from September 1982 to April 1987. During this time, they generated assembly drawing packages, ensured compliance with building codes, and coordinated third-party inspections. In April 1987, Bert joined Palm Harbor Homes as an Engineering Manager and later became the Director of Design and Engineering from August 1994 to April 2001. In this role, they oversaw various engineering offices, managed design and engineering operations, and reviewed and approved new model designs. Bert then advanced to become the Vice President of Engineering, a position they still hold.
