Nancy Shepherd

Nancy Shepherd is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in finance and community leadership. As the Board Chair and Board Member of Palo Alto Community Child Care since July 2017, Nancy also contributes as an Advisory Board Member for Evolve California. With a rich background as a Managerial Accountant and Controller for independent contracting since 1985, Nancy specializes in commercial real estate accounting and financial management for small businesses. Previous roles include serving as the 1st Vice President and Chair Elect for the League of Women Voters of Palo Alto, Operations Officer at Manzanita Works, and Former Mayor of the City of Palo Alto, where strategic policymaking was a key responsibility. Additionally, volunteer work for Community Legal Services involved bookkeeping and financial documentation. Nancy holds a Master's degree in International Relations and National Security Studies and a BA in Business and International Relations, both from San Francisco State University.
