Haiyong Zhang

Haiyong Zhang is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in software development and team management. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Palo Alto Networks since April 2024, Haiyong has previously held the position of Senior Software Engineering Manager at Amplitude from December 2021 to March 2024. Haiyong's tenure at Palo Alto Networks spans from March 2014 to March 2024, during which various roles were undertaken, including Software Engineering Manager, Principal Engineer, Senior Staff Engineer, and Staff Software Engineer. Earlier in the career, Haiyong worked as a Front End Engineer at Datum Systems Inc from October 2009 to March 2014, focusing on web user interface development and customized solutions. Haiyong holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia, earned in 2009.
