Jennifer Hone

Chief Medical Officer at Paloma Health

Jennifer Hone has worked in the medical field since 2009. Jennifer began their career as a Clinical Endocrinologist at the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department and a Clinical Faculty at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. In 2010, they became the Director of Diabetes Services at American Indian Health and Services and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Southern California. Additionally, they worked as a Research Physician at Sansum Diabetes Research Institute and wrote a book chapter, an article for JCEM, and had two abstracts accepted. In 2016, they became the Chief Medical Officer at Precise Telehealth and a Telemedicine Clinical Consultant at California Telehealth Network. In 2018, they took on the role of Chief Medical Officer at Paloma Health, where they co-innovated clinical processes and assisted with process decision-making regarding patient care, documentation, tools/platforms, data collection/analysis, and tele-endocrinology. In 2019, they became the National SR Medical Director, Diabetes, Optum Health Solutions, where they were responsible for product development from the clinical perspective, internal and external relationships, and collaboration with IT to create clinical decision support tools. In 2022, they will take on the role of Clinical Strategy Director at Teladoc Health.

Jennifer Hone obtained their Bachelor's degree in Human Physiology Anatomy from the University of California, Berkeley. Jennifer then attended the George Washington University Health Sciences Center where they earned their MD. Following their medical school education, they completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Jennifer then pursued a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the National Institutes of Health, NIDDK. In 2017, they earned their Master's degree in Health Care Delivery Science from Dartmouth College. In 1995, they received their ABIM Certification in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism from the ABIM Foundation.
