Laurie Edwards-Tate has been the president and founder of both a non-profit and currently for-profit home care aid organization, At Your Home Familycare, for more than 35 years.
She holds a Master's in Science in Human Resource Management and Development from Chapman University, and she is the founding member of the university's local Advisory Council. She also obtained advanced training for community college teaching credentialing from the University of California San Diego.
Throughout her career, Edwards-Tate has established a home care aid training program at San Diego State University of Extended Studies, created an online learning academy for caregivers and home care aids, and adopted the term "HomeCareAide" into state jargon.
She also pens articles for written publications. As the founder of LifeCycles, Edwards-Tate is a weekly featured columnist for Communities Digital News, and contributed to Caring magazine.
Edwards-Tate has served on several board positions, which include the NCAAA Advisory Board; PDHCA Advisory Board; FACT, County CTSA for Regional Transportation Board; and the San Diego North County Chamber of Commerce Health Care Advisory Board.
