Ron Berggren

CFO - Chief Financial Officer at Palomar Modular Buildings

Ron Berggren has a long and varied work experience. From 2009 to 2018, they held various roles in finance and accounting. Ron began their career as Assistant Controller at Comark Building Systems, a $100 million firm engaged in design, engineering, project management, and direct manufacturing of custom modular and portable buildings. In this role, they managed the monthly close process improvement, external audits, and construction percent of completion job cost accounting. Ron also supported the Timberline systems conversion project.

In 2010, they moved to Tandy Brands Accessories, a $140 million leading designer and marketer of branded men's, women's, and children's apparel accessories, as Assistant Controller. In this role, they directed inventory, payroll, insurance, and benefits accounting functions, including preparation of Board Compensation Committee reporting and the annual Form 11-K SEC filing. Ron also had planning and forecasting duties comprising sales, gross margins, payroll, benefits, and taxes.

Ron then moved to Johnson Controls in 2011 as Senior Finance Manager for their Global Workplace Solutions division. In this role, they led the development of an enhanced client financial reporting data warehouse solution utilizing Cognos reporting. Ron also worked as a contractor for JLL (predecessor companies were CBRE and JCI) to provide facility and project management services for BNSF Railway. In this role, they directed financial accounting, internal and external reporting, and provided variance analysis of facilities management activities.

In 2015, they moved to CBRE Group, Inc. as Senior Finance Manager. In this role, they provided facilities management services globally, including leasing and sales transactions, facilities management, project management, and construction services.

In 2016, they moved to JLL as Senior Finance Manager. In this role, they delivered real estate services globally, including leasing, capital markets, and hotels, property and facility management, project and development services, and advisory, consulting, and other services.

In 2017, they moved to Pier 1 Imports as Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting. In this role, they managed the complete cycle of revenue collection and reporting, including sales and cash audit functional areas, and accounting and forecasting of sales return and gift card breakage reserves, loyalty rewards program, and quarterly sold not delivered adjustment. Ron also moved to Fort Worth Chorale as Finance Director, Treasurer, and Board of Directors. In this role, they directed all finance, treasury, cash management, and accounting functions, and completed annual planning and quarterly forecasts, including variance analysis.

In 2018, they moved to Palomar Modular Buildings as Chief Financial Officer and Controller. In this role, they directed the monthly close process, prepared financial statements, and completed construction percent of completion job cost accounting. Ron also oversaw financial activities utilizing QuickBooks Enterprise, including GL, AP, AR, Payroll, and Job Costing modules, and established and maintained accounting processes, procedures, and controls. Ron also provided weekly status reporting and daily updates of cash forecast to management. Ron also worked as a Finance and Accounting Consultant for Robert Half Management Resources.

Ron Berggren received their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln between 1973 and 1977. Ron then went on to get their Master of Business Administration in Information Systems from The University of Texas at Arlington between 1983 and 1984.
