Alex Zhurba

Alex Zhurba is the current Chief Information Officer at Palta. Alex has previously served as the Chief Product Officer at Yandex.Market, Product Director of Wargaming.net Publishing Platform, and Senior SIEM Consultant at IBM (ScienceSoft).

Born in Russia, Alex has always been interested in technology and its potential to improve people's lives. Alex started their career as a Senior SIEM Consultant at IBM, where they worked for seven years before moving on to Wargaming.net. At Wargaming.net, Alex was responsible for the publishing platform, overseeing all aspects of product development and management.

In April 2019, Alex joined Yandex.Market as the Chief Product Officer. Yandex.Market is an online marketplace launched by Yandex, a joint venture of Sberbank and Yandex. In October 2020, Beru was rebranded and became the core of reborn Yandex Market.

As the Chief Product Officer at Yandex.Market, Alex was responsible for managing the product vision, goals & objectives, KPIs & metrics, etc. and communicating them to fellow development teams; leading and managing the product management team; building relationships and processes with marketplace's commercial, finance, logistics, etc. teams; and collaborating with Yandex, Sberbank, and other partners to pursue opportunities and achieve business growth.

In their current role as CIO at Palta, Alex is responsible for leading the company's IT strategy and operations. Alex is passionate about using technology to create efficiencies and improve people's lives.

Alex Zhurba's educational career includes a degree in organizational leadership from the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO, a degree in atomic physics and information technology from the Belarusian State University, and certification from the 280 Group in product management. Alex also holds certification from PADI in open water diving, Scrum Alliance in certified scrum product owner, and Belsoft Collaboration AG in information security system.

They are on a team with Mike Ionov - COO, Walter Gjergja - Head of Mindfulness, and Gianluca Cassaro - VP of Payments. Alex Zhurba reports to Yuri Gurski, CEO.
