Sam Vuong

Manager, CMC at Palvella Therapeutics

Sam Vuong has worked in various roles since 2010. In 2010, they were an Undergraduate Researcher at Temple University's Department of Chemistry, where they synthesized and characterized low coordinate manganese clusters relevant to Photosystem II enzyme models, and solved crystal structures using x-ray diffraction. In 2012, they were a Safety Pharmacology Co-op at GlaxoSmithKline, where they assisted in the pre-clinical evaluation of drug adverse effects on cardiovascular, respiratory and neurobehavioral functions in animal models, assisted in surgical implantation of telemetry devices, and performed subcutaneous, oral, and intravenous animal dosing. From 2013-2018, they were a Packaging Engineer/Scientist II at DePuy Synthes Companies, where they managed shelf life (accelerated & real-time) and stability testing of packaging systems intended for metallic alloys, biomaterials, and combination devices, designed and performed force degradation/stress test studies in support of innovative materials, and performed root cause analysis as related to design, material, or process failures. Since 2018, they have been a Scientist and Associate Scientist at West Pharmaceutical Services, where they provide analytical expertise for the CCIT of containment & deliver systems in a cGMP environment, designs and executes method development & validation studies, and leads meetings in a technical capacity with internal and external customers. Sam is currently a Manager, CMC at Palvella Therapeutics.

Sam Vuong obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Biomedical Science from Drexel University between 2011 and 2013. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry from Temple University between 2006 and 2010.
