Erik Luhta

Erik Luhta is a seasoned metallurgist with extensive experience in the mining and minerals industry. Currently serving as a Senior Metallurgist at Pan American Silver Corp. since April 2016, Erik has previously held key positions including Production Superintendent and Senior Metallurgist at Northern Sun Mining Corp., and Metallurgist - Technical Sales at Mill-Ore Products Inc., where expertise in metallurgical processes and technical sales was developed. Early career roles include Intermediate Metallurgist at Xstrata Copper, Metallurgist at Rio Tinto Minerals, and various positions at Placer Dome, demonstrating a strong foundation in metallurgy, data analysis, and process optimization. Erik holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Metallurgical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemistry from Northern Michigan University.
