Leland Dawson has worked in the software development industry since 2009. In 2013, they were an Android Consultant for Thing Control, followed by a role as Lead Developer for Panda in 2020. From 2016 to 2020, they were an AI Game Developer for Second Step Studios. From 2014 to 2016, they were a Teaching Assistant at UC Santa Cruz, teaching classes such as CM170-172 - Senior Game Design Studio and CS 10 - Introduction to Computer Science. From 2009 to 2013, they were a Programmer for Omni-arts PTY Ltd, programming six games for a wide range of platforms. Additionally, from 2009 to 2013, they were a Engine Developer/Community Manager for Game Editor, where they maintained the site's forums and community, answered questions, and taught new users how to program and best use the engine.
Leland Dawson began their educational journey by attending De Anza College from 2010 to 2012. Leland then continued their studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science: Game Design in 2014. In 2017, they completed their Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science at the same university.
