Yap Ching Chew

Yap Ching Chew has a diverse work experience, starting in 2002 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. They later became a Graduate Research Assistant, where they made significant discoveries related to histone biotinylation. Yap then joined the University of Maryland School of Medicine as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Associate, publishing multiple papers and identifying a new mechanism for regulating skin cell proliferation and differentiation. In 2012, they joined Zymo Research Corp as a Scientist and later became the Director of Epigenetics Technologies, where they developed and launched epigenetic-related products and optimized the ChIP-Seq epigenetics services pipeline. Currently, Yap works at Pangea Laboratory as the Chief Operating Officer and previously served as a Director.

Yap Ching Chew obtained a Ph.D. in Molecular Nutrition from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2008. Prior to that, Yap Ching Chew also received an M.S. in Molecular Nutrition from the same university in 2005. In 2001, Yap Ching Chew completed a B.S. degree in Nutritional Science and Dietetics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Before attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Yap Ching Chew studied Biochemistry at Tunku Abdul Rahman College from 1999 to 2000. Additionally, Yap Ching Chew has obtained additional certifications from the CITI Program in the fields of GCP for Clinical Investigations of Devices (obtained in October 2023) and Human Subjects Research - Biomedical (Biomed) Comprehensive (obtained in September 2023).
