Safa Kashani

Safa Kashani has a diverse work experience in the field of software development and engineering. Safa currently holds the position of Engineering Manager - Data Services at Panopto, starting in December 2022. Before this, they worked at T-Mobile as a Software Development Manager from February 2018 to November 2022, where they were responsible for managing multiple scrum teams and delivering key projects.

Prior to T-Mobile, Safa worked at Cision as the Director of Software Engineering from June 2016 to October 2017, overseeing backend systems and web-based applications. Safa also served as the Database Development Manager at Virtuoso for a brief period in 2016, managing a team of engineers and DBAs and promoting software engineering best practices.

Safa has also been involved in entrepreneurship, as the Founder and Software Development Director of ServicesList, a startup project connecting consumers and vendors of various services from September 2009 to December 2015.

Earlier in their career, they held positions at Expedia as a Software Development Manager, leading development teams and maintaining mission-critical systems from October 2010 to April 2015. Safa also served as a Lead Database Developer, responsible for database design and development of in-house systems.

Prior to Expedia, Safa gained experience at Corbis as a Lead Database Developer, working on various databases and leading a team of developers. Safa also worked at Microsoft in multiple roles, including Lead Database Developer and Senior Database Developer, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of databases within financial systems and mentoring development teams.

Safa Kashani has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from The University of British Columbia. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications. In March 2022, they completed the "AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-C02) Cert Prep: 1 Cloud Services Overview" course offered by LinkedIn. Safa also completed the "AWS Certified Database – Specialty (DBS-C01) Cert Prep: 1 Introduction and Services" and "AWS Certified Database – Specialty (DBS-C01) Cert Prep: 2 Design and Deployment" courses in May 2022. Most recently, in September 2022, Safa obtained certifications in "Designing RESTful APIs" and "Learning REST APIs" from LinkedIn.
