Mark embraces the art of reductionism to guide nearly every aspect of his life. Reductionism is the attempt to create the deepest levels of mood and emotion, with the least amount of detail, thus reducing elements to their most essential core. He believes this is the true art of communication, as creating a feeling for something is significantly more challenging than merely presenting it. These principles also inform his approach to songwriting, the acquisition of contemporary and impressionist art, and his relationship to the world and the people he has loved along the way.
