Vicken Simonian

Vicken Simonian has been working in the software engineering industry since 2005. Vicken began their career at The Boeing Company as a Software Engineer and then moved to Oblong Industries Inc. in 2011, where they served as Lead Software Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for the development and operation of cloud backend systems, created continuous integration systems utilizing Docker and GitLab, and shipped into production Mezzanine's screen sharing feature. In 2018, they joined Oblong Inc. as a Software Engineer, and in 2020, they moved to Papaya as a Senior DevOps Engineer. In this role, they developed systems and processes to establish productive engineering practices, and guided efforts to introduce immutable containers, infrastructure as code, and software observability throughout the engineering teams.

Vicken Simonian attended the University of California, Los Angeles from 2000 to 2004, earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Vicken later attended Arizona State University from 2007 to 2009, where they earned a Master of Engineering in Software Engineering.
