Process Control Engineer at Par Pacific Holdings

Sean MacDonald has a diverse work experience in the field of process control engineering. Sean started working as an Electrical Engineer at M.R. Control Systems in July 2003, where they tested Cimplicity/Powerlink based systems for electrical substations and created test procedures for electrical/SCADA systems. Sean then joined GE Fanuc as an Automation Support Specialist in May 2004, resolving various issues relating to industrial hardware and software, with a focus on custom scripts, HMIs, networking, industrial protocols, and PLCs.

In 2006, Sean began contracting with Cybertech Automation, working exclusively at Shell Scotford as an SIS Engineer. Sean successfully created and implemented a variety of automation projects, following strict management of change processes. Sean was responsible for programming and supporting PLCs (Modicon) and Safety Shutdown systems (GE Fanuc, Triconex).

In 2017, Sean worked as an Automation Specialist (temporary contract) at Northwest Refinery, before joining Par Pacific Holdings, Inc. in July 2019 as a Process Control Engineer.

Sean MacDonald attended the University of Victoria, where they pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering. Sean completed their studies in 2003. In addition to their formal education, Sean MacDonald obtained a certification as a P.Eng from The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). However, the specific month and year in which they obtained this certification are not provided.
