Varun Shivashankar

Varun Shivashankar is currently serving as Associate Director of Machine Learning at FogPharma since March 2024. Previously, Varun held the position of Associate Director of Machine Learning and Computational Biology at Orna Therapeutics from December 2021 to February 2024. Prior to that, Varun was a Principal Scientist in Machine Learning at Montai Health from September 2019 to December 2021. Varun's earlier experience includes multiple roles at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, spanning from Senior Principal Scientific Computing Engineer to Senior Programming Specialist, from February 2013 to September 2019. Varun also contributed to research at Stanford University as a Visiting Researcher in 2015, worked as a Bioinformatics Specialist at PRO Unlimited from August 2011 to February 2013, and completed an internship at Genzyme in 2010. Varun's academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics from Northeastern University (2008-2011) and a Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics from Vellore Institute of Technology (2004-2008).
