Scientometrics Data Scientist at Parallax Advanced Research

Dr. Devon Whetstone, PhD has a diverse work experience. From 2012 to 2014, Dr. Whetstone worked as a Program Assessment and Student Affairs Assessment Consultant at James Madison University. From 2014 to 2017, Dr. Whetstone served as the Director of Assessment at Stephens College, where they developed and managed the college's learning assessment program. In addition, they chaired the institution's HLC accreditation reaffirmation committee. From 2017 to 2022, Dr. Whetstone worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Missouri-Columbia. In this role, they taught undergraduate information literacy and instructional technology courses, as well as oversaw a group of master's and doctoral teaching assistants. Currently, Dr. Whetstone holds the position of a Scientometrics Intern at Parallax Advanced Research, where they started in June 2022. They have recently been promoted to the position of a Scientometrics Data Scientist, starting in December 2022.

Dr. Devon Whetstone, PhD, has an extensive education history. In 2006, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Classical Languages and a certificate in Entrepreneurship from Purdue University. Dr. Devon pursued further education at James Madison University from 2012 to 2014, where they earned a Master of Arts in Psychology. In 2016, Dr. Whetstone attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, where they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Online Educator. Continuing their studies at the same institution, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Information Science and Learning Technologies in 2022.
