Teresa Torkelson

Teresa Torkelson has extensive experience in the healthcare field, currently serving as Clinical Team Lead and Clinical Appeals Nurse at Parallon since February 2018. Previously, Teresa held the position of Director of Utilization Management at nThrive from June 2008 to November 2017, overseeing service lines including Physician Secondary Review and Utilization Review. Prior to that, Teresa worked as a Quality Management Professional at St. Anthony Regional Hospital & Nursing Home from September 1996 to May 2008, where responsibilities included performing Utilization Management reviews and obtaining prior authorizations. Teresa began their career as a Registered Nurse at MRHC from June 1983 to August 1996, providing clinical care and serving as a certified instructor in various life support programs. Teresa earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Des Moines Area Community College between 1981 and 1983 after completing high school at Manning Community School.
