Mina Amiri has a diverse work experience in the field of machine learning and computer vision. Mina is currently employed as a Machine Learning Research Scientist at Paravision since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Zetane Systems as a Research Scientist from October 2020 to August 2022.
Before their industry roles, Mina held a position as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Concordia University starting from December 2018 until October 2020. During their time there, they focused on image processing, segmentation, deep learning, and computer vision. Mina also had the opportunity to contribute as a course lecturer for subjects like image processing and statistics. Their research included the development of a two-stage deep learning approach for enhancing image segmentation, as well as analyzing transfer learning strategies for improving image segmentation accuracy. In addition, they mentored a PhD student in developing a deep learning model for tissue classification and real-time motion tracking.
Earlier in their career, Mina gained research experience as a Research Assistant at McGill University from January 2013 to November 2018. Mina also served as a Teaching Assistant at the university from January 2013 to January 2016.
Overall, Mina's work experience demonstrates their expertise in machine learning, computer vision, and image processing.
Mina Amiri has an extensive education history in the field of engineering. Mina obtained their Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MSC) degree in Biomedical Engineering from the same university, completing their studies between 2010 and 2012.
Afterwards, Mina continued their educational journey and enrolled in McGill University for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Biomedical Engineering. Mina attended McGill from 2013 to 2017, working towards the completion of their PhD degree.
Apart from their academic degrees, they also acquired a certification in Game Theory from Coursera in May 2012, which showcases their interest in expanding their knowledge beyond their formal education.
