Arundhati Swamy

Arundhati Swamy has over 40 years of experience in the field of counselling. Arundhati began their career in 1977 as a School Counsellor at Mt. Carmel Convent in Pune. In 1987, they moved to St. Michaels' Academy in Chennai, where they served as a School Counsellor. In 2001, they began a private practice as a Family Counsellor, School Counsellor, Teacher Development Trainer, and Parent Educator. That same year, they also began working as a Family and School Counsellor at UBIKA Counselling Services. In 2002, they worked as a Counsellor at Sishya in Chennai, and as a School Counsellor at Abacus Montessori School. In 2004, they founded the Chennai Counsellors' Foundation and served as its President. From 2006 to 2009, they were an Affiliate Counsellor at People Performance Consultants in Bangalore. In 2009, they became the Head of the Department of Guidance and Counselling at M.Ct.M. International School in Chennai, where they developed the Department of Guidance & Counselling, student and parent counselling interventions, group work for personal growth and development, teacher and parent interactions, an enrichment programme curriculum for students, and guidance classes for students, towards social and emotional learning goals. Arundhati also developed teacher leadership and teacher development workshops, as well as policy development for guidance & counselling, school child protection, e-safety, and code of conduct. Since 2017, they have been the Head of the Parent Engagement Programmes at ParentCircle - Shri Harini Media Ltd.

Arundhati Swamy's education history includes a M.A. Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences between 1973 and 1975, a B.A.(Hons) in Sociology/Psychology from St. Xaviers College, Mumbai between 1969 and 1973, a High School Certificate from Baldwin Girls High School, Bangalore between 1962 and 1968, and schooling from Queen Mary's Girls High School, Mumbai and Rose Manor Garden Kindergarten School, Mumbai between 1960 and 1956. Arundhati has also obtained various certifications from NovoEd, Coursera, and Coursera Course Certificates between 2016 and 2013.
