Mariëlle Sluijter has worked in various roles in the retail sector since 1996. Mariëlle began their career at Magazijn de Bijenkorf, where they were a Senior Buyer for Bijenkorf Business Class and a Commercial Assistant. In 2002, they moved to ICI PARIS XL (AS Watson) as a Senior Brand Relation Manager. In 2012, they joined DA Retailgroep BV as a Unit Manager Luxe, and in 2015 they became Commercieel Manager at Welkoop. From 2010 to 2016, they were Commercieel Directeur at Mooi Parfumerie, and from 2016 to 2020 they were a Buying Manager Hardgoods at Hudson's Bay Netherlands. Currently, they are Interim Manager at Sluijter Interim Service and Director Retail & Brand Partnerships at Parfumado.

Mariëlle Sluijter's education history consists of seven educational experiences. Mariëlle attended Veluws College from 1981 to 1986, where they completed their H.A.V.O. and Atheneum-B. Mariëlle then attended Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 1989 to 1990 for Bewegingswetenschappen and from 1990 to 1993 for Economie. In 1993, they graduated from Inholland University of Applied Sciences with a BA in Commerciele Economie. In 2007, they attended The Gap Partnership for The Complete Skilled Negotiator. Finally, in 2016, they attended Babson College for Babson College Executive Education, Strategic management & planning in retailing.
