Carmelo Pampillonio is a versatile professional with a strong background in arts and sound design. Currently serving on the Science Advisory Committee at Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute since January 2019, Carmelo also has experience as a composer and artist in residency at various organizations, including Elektronmusikstudion, Pioneer Works Art Foundation, and Wave Farm Inc. Previous roles include Sound Designer at Make Noise and Composer at Freethink. From September 2017 to September 2018, Carmelo held the position of Assistant Programs Director at Revolve and created the Black Mountain College Radio podcast while working as an Independent Contractor at Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center. Additionally, Carmelo contributed as a Gallery Assistant through the Windgate Internship at Asheville Art Museum in 2016. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Music from the University of North Carolina Asheville.
