Joe Demers is an experienced educator with a diverse background in teaching and instructional leadership. Currently serving as a 1st Grade and 4th Grade Teacher, as well as an Instructional Coach at Park City School District since September 2004, Joe has developed extensive expertise in elementary education. Prior to this, Joe taught 1st grade at Hilltop Elementary School within the Chula Vista Elementary School District from September 1996 to June 2004 and held teaching positions for 4th and 7th grades at Sacred Heart Parish School from March 1988 to June 1996. Joe holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum and Instructional Leadership from Concordia University-Portland, obtained between 2014 and 2015, and has two degrees from San Diego State University: a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Elementary Education and Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Music.

Founded May 17, 1915, Park City School District is nestled in the mountains of the year-round resort town of Park City, Utah. The district’s mission is inspiring and support all students equitably to achieve academic and social potential. PCSD is home to seven schools and 4,800 students. Our schools include: – Jeremy Ranch, McPolin, Parley’s Park, and Trailside Elementary Schools (preschool to grade 5) – Ecker Hill Middle School (grades 6-7) – Treasure Mountain Junior High School (grades 8-9) – Park City High School (grades 10-12). The district also offers a non-profit child care center at the high school for children ages six weeks to pre-K, and preschool at its four elementary schools. Park City School District was ranked “Best School District in Utah” by in Niche in its 2020 Best Schools in America rankings and grades. We are proud of our 95% graduation rate which is more than 10% higher than the state average, and in the top 1 percent of the nation.
