Susan Stratton

Susan Stratton has extensive experience in education, having served as a Curriculum Facilitator at Park Forest - Chicago Heights District 163 since July 2018, following a 16-year tenure as a Primary Grade Teacher in the same district. Throughout this time, Susan has taught first through third grades and participated in various leadership roles. Prior experience includes teaching first grade for eight years at Community Unit School District 300. Susan holds a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University in River Forest, IL, and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Teaching from Northern Illinois University, completed between 1985 and 1988.

Park Forest-Chicago Heights School District 163 is seeking qualified, creative and determined applicants. District 163 is located approximately 35 minutes south of downtown Chicago. We have 6 schools with over 2,000 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten - 8th grade. Our District, within the Park Forest Community, embraces diversity with attention to ARTS, ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND SCIENCES. We have recently reconfigured grades 4-8 to provide students the opportunity to choose between two schools, STEM and Leadership, and ARTS and Technology.
