Prem Kakar has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry, spanning over several prestigious organizations. Prem began their career in 1980 as a Specialist in Anesthesia for the Ministry of Health and Education in Iran, where they gained valuable experience in handling mass casualties during the war between Iran and Iraq. Prem then worked as a Specialist in Anesthesia for the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia, where they also took on administrative responsibilities as Chief Anesthetist.

In 1990, Prem Kakar joined Jaipur Golden Hospital in India as a Senior Consultant in Anesthesia, eventually becoming the Chairman of the Department. Prem continued to excel in their career, serving as the Chairman of the Department of Anesthesia at Shanti Mukand Hospital and later as a Consultant and Head of the Department of Anesthesia at Sant Parmanand Hospital.

In 2003, Prem Kakar joined Max Healthcare as the Director of Anesthesia, where they played a key role in developing high-quality professional practices and overseeing the organization and planning of operation theaters and ICUs. Prem then served as the Medical Director and Head of the Department of Anesthesia at Fortis Healthcare, where they were involved in business planning, quality improvement initiatives, and acquiring consultants for various specialties.

From 2012 to 2016, Prem Kakar worked as the Medical Director and Director of Anesthesia and ICU at Panacea Biotec Ltd, where they played a crucial role in setting up policies and protocols for NABH accreditation and implementing the HIS system. Currently, they are the Chief Executive Officer of Park Hospital in Gurgaon, where they have succeeded in getting all seven hospitals of the group accredited and is actively involved in the advisory for forthcoming green field hospitals of the group.

Prem Kakar completed their middle education at Adarsh Middle School from 1960 to 1964. Prem then attended M.B. Higher Secondary School in Delhi from 1964 to 1967, where they obtained a Higher Secondary degree in Biology (Medical).

From 1970 to 1975, Prem Kakar attended Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar, where they earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree.

Prem continued their education at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital from 1977 to 1979, where they pursued a postgraduate degree in Anesthesia.

Prem Kakar also spent a year as a Senior Resident at Safdarjung Hospital in 1979 and 1980, specializing in Anesthesia.

In addition to their formal education, Prem Kakar obtained a certification in Chair central infection control council Pan Max first and then Again Fortis. However, the institution and specific details of the certification are not provided.
