Diego Velasquez, PhD, MES, P. Eng, PMP, currently serves as the Water Infrastructure Manager for Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the US West region since August 2023. Prior experience includes a role as Project Manager for Water/Wastewater and Infrastructure Planning at the City of Vaughan from July 2018 to August 2023, overseeing city-wide water, wastewater, and stormwater master plans. At the City of Toronto from September 2013 to July 2018, Diego held positions managing multi-million dollar capital works projects in water treatment and solid waste facilities, and contributing to the development of a 5-year capital program to address infrastructure challenges. Academic credentials include a PhD in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering, a Master's in Environment and Sustainability, and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from institutions such as Western University and Universidad EAFIT. Diego also held research and teaching positions at Western University and completed internships focused on sustainability assessment in water-related projects.
