Matt Newman

Matt Newman has extensive work experience in the field of systems engineering and IT support. Matt began their career at Michigan State University, where they held various roles such as Webmaster, Computer Assistant, Academic Technology Coordinator, and Information Technology Professional.

After leaving the university in 2005, Matt joined Becker Orthopedic, where they served as an Information Systems Support professional. In this role, they managed a multi-server Windows LAN and implemented domain migrations, consolidating services into a single Active Directory structure.

In 2008, Matt moved to Hazel Park Harness Raceway as a Systems Administrator, responsible for designing and maintaining their Windows 2003 domain infrastructure.

From 2009 to 2014, Matt worked at Allscripts as a Senior Systems Engineer, managing the Windows servers, Active Directory, Exchange, and VMware virtualization platform. Matt provided technical support for Microsoft Exchange email administration, monitoring mailboxes, and managing backups.

Most recently, Matt worked at Parkland Hospital as a Systems Engineering Team Lead. Matt provided direction and service delivery to the systems engineering team, facilitated staff development, and managed resource capacity. Matt also played a key role in implementing a new application presentation and identity management platform using VMware Horizon/Workspace One.

Matt Newman attended Michigan State University from 1997 to 2003, where they earned a degree in Telecommunications. In addition to their degree, they have obtained various certifications including F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator (F5-CA) from F5 Networks in 2016, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MSCA): Messaging 2003, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE): Windows Server 2003 from Microsoft, and CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ from CompTIA.
