Stacey McIntosh Howell has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Stacey started their career in 1992 at the Department of Veterans Affairs, where they supervised a team and was responsible for medical care cost recovery. In 1998, they worked as a Coding Coordinator at Columbia/HCA Spring Branch Medical Center, overseeing coding activities and ensuring accurate reimbursement.

From 1999 to 2005, Stacey worked at Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in various roles. As the Director of Health Information Management/Project Manager, they managed a staff of twenty and oversaw departmental operations, budgeting, and software implementation. Stacey also served as a Project Manager for the Office of Privacy Compliance, coordinating HIPAA regulations and participating in the implementation of an electronic health record.

In 2005, Stacey joined CHI St. Luke's Community Medical Center as a Manager of Medical Records before returning to Memorial Hermann Healthcare System as a Manager of HIM Technology. In this role, they had responsibilities such as overseeing speech recognition transcription platforms, managing outsourced vendors, and leading ICD-10 preparedness projects.

Finally, in 2015, Stacey joined Parkland Hospital as the Director of Data Integrity & HIM Informatics.

Throughout their career, Stacey has demonstrated expertise in managing health information systems, coordinating projects, and providing operational guidance. Stacey is familiar with various software applications and has experience in transitioning from paper to electronic environments.

Stacey McIntosh Howell has a diverse education history. Stacey obtained a Master of Strategic Leadership degree from Stephens College in 2015. Prior to that, they earned an MBA degree from the University of Phoenix between 2005 and 2007. In 2003, they completed a Master's degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. Stacey also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Administration from Ferris State University, which they acquired from 1989 to 1991. Stacey began their academic journey at Saginaw Valley State University from 1987 to 1989, where they pursued a pre-degree program. Additionally, Stacey has obtained various certifications throughout their career, including being a Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) from AHIMA since 2023 and a Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) from HFMA since 2019. Other certifications they hold include the CHTS-IM (Certified Healthcare Technology Specialist- Implementation Manager) from AHIMA in 2018, CPHIMS (Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems) from HIMSS in 2017, CPHI (Certified Professional in Health Informatics) from AHIMA in 2017, CHP (Certified in Healthcare Privacy) from AHIMA in 2003, CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) from AHIMA in 1999, and RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) from AHIMA in 1998. Stacey's education and certifications have equipped their with a well-rounded background in leadership, management, healthcare technology, and health information administration.
