Vidya Ayyr

Director, Community Social Impact at Parkland Health

Vidya Ayyr, MPH, CHW has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. They are currently the Founder and CEO of BrainCharge, a position they have held since March 2021. In the past, Vidya has worked in several healthcare-related roles, including Director of Community Social Impact and Founder & President of Young Professionals for Parkland at Parkland Hospital. They have also served as a Mental Health Instructor at the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and as a Scholar at Presidential Leadership Scholars, where they explored leadership through the lens of former presidents. Vidya has also held positions as a Community Advisor at The Aspen Institute and as a Leadership Fellow at D Magazine. Prior to these roles, Vidya worked as a Community Outreach Coordinator at Children's Health.

Vidya Ayyr holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston), which was obtained in 2011. Prior to that, Vidya earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2006. In addition to their educational background, Vidya has obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Vidya is a certified Community Health Worker Instructor (CHWI) from the Texas Department of State Health Services, obtained in 2021. Vidya has also received certifications in Strengthening Community Health from Harvard University in 2019 and in Social Impact Strategy from the University of Pennsylvania in 2018.
