Norinda Rosario Yancey is an experienced Equity Officer at Parks Tacoma since May 2021, specializing in justice, equity, diversity, access, and inclusion (JEDAI) principles. As the Founder, President, and CEO of Fierce Buddha, LLC, established in February 2018, Norinda provides consultancy focused on equity and collective impact. Additional leadership roles include a Senior Fellow with the American Leadership Forum from June 2022 to June 2023, and previous Vice President of Community Impact at United Way of Pierce County. Norinda has also engaged as a motivational speaker and guest speaker for various organizations and events, empowering diverse communities and promoting collaborative problem-solving. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication from Rosemont College and participation in the Leadership Gainesville program.

Parks Tacoma
Created by voters in 1907, Parks Tacoma is an independent agency that provides parks, recreation and zoological services for people in the Tacoma, Browns Point and Dash Point areas. Governed by an elected five-member Board of Park Commissioners, Parks Tacoma maintains and cares for 69 parks and attractions, including Point Defiance Park with its Zoo and Aquarium, Boathouse Marina, and Fort Nisqually; Northwest Trek Wildlife Park near Eatonville; W. W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory; Meadow Park Golf Course; and Ruston Way waterfront parks.
