Samantha Losben

Archive Director at Parkwood Entertainment

Samantha Losben has a diverse range of work experience in the field of archival and metadata management. Samantha started their career in 2010 as an intern at the National Center for Jewish Film, where they digitized stills from Yiddish films and performed database cleanup. Samantha then worked as an intern at the Rodgers & Hammerstein Archives of Recorded Sound at the New York Public Library, creating item-level inventories and assisting with research. Samantha joined the New York University Division of Libraries as a Media Preservation Assistant in 2009 before moving on to the Roundabout Theatre Company as a Project Archivist, where they assessed, cataloged, and uploaded digitized audio and video holdings. Samantha also gained experience as a Cataloging Assistant at AudioVisual Preservation Solutions, where they assisted in inventorying a large media collection. Samantha worked as a Metadata Specialist at LAC Group before joining The Museum of Modern Art as a Project Cataloger. Currently, Samantha holds the position of Archive Director at Parkwood Entertainment, where they manage and oversees archival operations. Samantha previously held roles as Archive Manager, Collection Archivist, and Metadata Specialist at the same company.

Samantha Losben holds a Master's degree in Moving Image Archiving and Preservation, which they acquired from New York University during the years 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in History and Communication Studies at American University from 2004 to 2008.
