Richard A. Pernavas Cissp

Richard A. Pernavas, CISSP, CISM has a diverse work experience in the technology and cybersecurity industry.

Richard currently serves as the Director of Cloud Security at PAR Technology since September 2021. PAR Technology provides technology solutions for the restaurant industry and government agencies.

Prior to that, from 2015 to 2021, Pernavas worked at Beacon Healthcare Systems as the VP of Engineering. Richard focused on delivering data-driven SaaS solutions for healthcare insurance companies while ensuring compliance and data security.

From 2012 to 2015, Pernavas was a Senior Security Engineer at Lyris, a global leader in digital marketing. Richard led a team of developers and developed cloud-based SaaS products.

In 2008, Pernavas was the Product Manager of Security at Barracuda Networks, where they drove the integration of acquired technology into Barracuda's product portfolio.

Before that, they founded 3SP, a UK-based cybersecurity startup specializing in VPN technology. 3SP was acquired by Barracuda Networks in 2008.

Pernavas also founded SSHTools Limited, a data security-focused company, developing Java encryption products for enterprise customers. Richard served as the CTO before the company was acquired.

Richard'searly career includes roles as a Software Engineer at Creative Business Systems Ltd and Logica.

Throughout their career, Pernavas has demonstrated expertise in areas such as cloud security, healthcare technology, digital marketing, and encryption solutions.

Richard A. Pernavas, CISSP, CISM, holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Leicester. In addition to their academic background, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. Richard became a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) in August 2000. More recently, in March 2020, they earned the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)². In November 2020, they acquired the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification from ISACA.
