Nicolas El Baze

General Partner at Partech

Nicolas El Baze is General Partner at Partech and based in San Francisco. He joined in 2000.

Prior to Partech, Nicolas spent 15 years as an entrepreneur and founded several companies, some of which were financed by Partech, including Softway International (acq. by ITway), Softway Systems (acq. by Microsoft), and ISDnet (acq. by Cable & Wireless). He also led the incubation of several start-ups in Europe and in the United States, including: RightPoint (acq. by E.piphany), MultiMania (IPO) and LibertySurf (IPO).

Nicolas has been leading Partech’s early stage US investments in the field of software, internet, and cloud computing. Several of his investments were acquired by industry leaders: Akimbi (acquired by VMware), ClearApp (Oracle), Meiosys (IBM), Pantero (Progress Software), and Q-Layer (Sun Microsystems). Nicolas currently sits on the boards of Rinse, OpenSesame, TouchOfModern, and Resilinc.

Nicolas received an MBA from Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) in Paris, France and is a graduate of the International Management Program from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business and the University of Cologne, Germany. In his free time, he likes to combine his travels with food discovery adventures and his practice of martial arts.
