Aletha R. Cherry, PhD, currently serves as the K-12 Associate Editor for Six Red Marbles and works as a Curriculum Writer for both the International Baccalaureate and the University of the Virgin Islands, where also holds a professorship. Additionally, Aletha holds the position of Education Ambassador for Partners of the Americas and has been actively involved as a Community Activist with Civic Services since 2009. Previous roles include serving as Elementary Lead for Gradient Learning, Director of Elementary Curriculum & Instruction at Summit Learning, and Teacher and District Science Content Specialist at Atlanta Public Schools. Aletha's teaching experience also includes positions at Atlanta Preparatory Academy and as Executive Director at The Herndon Home. Aletha R. Cherry holds a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Tech University, an MAT in Early Childhood Education from Oglethorpe University, and a BA in African American and Caribbean History with a focus on Secondary Education from Spelman College.
