Lavonya Jones

Lavonya Jones has an extensive work experience history, focusing on promoting equity and social impact. Lavonya'smost recent position is as the Director of Just Energy Portfolio at the Partnership for Southern Equity. In this role, they work towards racial equity in energy production and consumption through community organizing, leadership development, and data-driven strategies.

Prior to this, Lavonya served as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at Morehouse College, where they instructed students in developing innovative entrepreneurial solutions for sustainable development goals. Lavonya also managed a corporate-sponsored fund and facilitated successful pitch presentations to venture capital investors.

Lavonya was a Lead Facilitator at Interise, where they collaborated with the Partnership for Southern Equity and Interise to provide practical business education to historically challenged businesses in Atlanta, funded by the Kellogg Foundation.

As the Founder of Consciously Funded, Lavonya created a lifestyle brand and social justice media company dedicated to amplifying the voices and impact of Black and Indigenous social impact leaders.

Lavonya also worked as a Global Leadership Strategist and Coach at Global Edge Leadership Solutions LLC, offering consulting and coaching expertise to improve business effectiveness and foster development in various locations.

Lavonya's experience includes serving as the Director of the Georgia Social Impact Collaborative, where they championed impact investing in Georgia by engaging key stakeholders and addressing resource distribution and access to capital for social ventures.

Furthermore, Lavonya held positions at the Morehouse Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center, HBCUvc, Morehouse College, and Clark Atlanta University, where they played roles in project coordination, program management, and student development.

Lavonya Jones has a strong educational background in the field of Organizational Leadership. Lavonya earned a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree from Argosy University, specializing in Organizational Leadership, from 2011 to 2016. Prior to that, they completed a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Regent University from 2006 to 2008. Lavonya'sundergraduate education took place at Hampton University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurship from 2001 to 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Lavonya Jones has also obtained two certifications related to business coaching. Lavonya became an Extreme Business Success Coach and a Master Business Success Coach from the American Union of NLP in September 2014.

Currently, Lavonya Jones is pursuing further education at Edgewood College, working towards a Doctor of Education - EdD degree in Organizational Leadership, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
