Jennifer Edwards

Jennifer Edwards has a diverse work experience in the education field. Jennifer started their career in 2000 at Pasadena ISD, where they served as an AVID Campus Coordinator/Elective Teacher. Jennifer played a crucial role in implementing AVID educational program techniques and coordinating various projects within the district. Additionally, Jennifer worked as a Behavior Specialist/Special Education Teacher, supporting students with severe emotional behavioral issues and implementing behavior improvement plans.

In 2016, Jennifer joined Dickinson ISD, where they worked as an English Language Arts Teacher. Jennifer developed and refined the curriculum for Senior English level and utilized the ADDIE model for lesson creation. During their time at Dickinson ISD, they also took on additional responsibilities as an AVID Campus Coordinator and AVID Elective Teacher. In these roles, they supported AVID programs across six major Houston cities, mentored students on their college applications, financial aid, scholarships, and career exploration.

Currently, Jennifer is working at Pasadena Independent School District as an English Language Arts Teacher/Team Lead. Jennifer utilizes the ADDIE model to create and refine curriculum based on real-time data and assessment. In their first year, they achieved impressive results with over 70% of students passing the state standardized test for English 2.

Jennifer Edwards holds a Bachelor of Criminal Justice degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Sam Houston State University, which they completed between 1996 and 1999. Jennifer then pursued a Master of Science degree in Educational Management at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, attaining it from 2006 to 2009. Jennifer also has various certifications, including Texas Educator Certifications from the Texas Education Agency in 2002, 2006, and 2010. Additionally, they have completed specialized trainings in Instructional Design Essentials and Camtasia: Interactive Learning through LinkedIn in 2021. Jennifer is a member of the American Criminal Justice Association and the Texas State Teachers Association.
