Pasco County Mosquito Control District

The mission of the Pasco Mosquito Control District is to protect the health and well-being of the citizens of Pasco County through the prevention and control of mosquitoes and mosquito-borne diseases. Our goal is to control both pestiferous and disease carrying mosquito populations to a tolerable level in the safest, most economical manner, while using a variety of methods in such a way as to minimize potential effects on people, wildlife and the environment. Since its creation in 1951, the Pasco County Mosquito Control District(PCMCD) has provided protection from mosquito-borne diseases while also working to maintain the quality of life of residents and guests from nuisance mosquitoes. In its early days, the PCMCD was at the forefront of the industry, providing innovation and research by contributing to the development of best management practices and equipment used by the Florida mosquito control community. Each of our employees are trained and licensed in Public Health Pest Control from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and receive recurring training to maintain proficiencies and keep abreast of new technologies, control strategies, and disease threats. These dedicated professionals continue to strive to meet the needs of our residents while providing public health protection from mosquito-borne disease. Looking to the future, as Director I am committed to continue that trend of leadership and innovation by growing the program to meet the ever-changing needs of Pasco County residents and guests and providing superior mosquito control activities that are effective, sensitive to Florida’s ecosystem, and fiscally sound.
