Rafael Gallego has extensive work experience in the legal field. Rafael began their career in 1990 as a Deputy County Attorney at the Pima County Attorney's Office, where they worked until 1993. From 1993 to 2020, they were an Attorney at Gallego Law Firm, P.C. In 2020, they joined the Pima County Public Defender's Office as an Attorney until 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Public Defender at the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.
Rafael Gallego completed their Juris Doctor degree in Law from the University of Arizona, where they attended from 1987 to 1990.
