Mikayil Shahmirzayev, FRM, PRM has extensive experience in risk management. Mikayil'smost recent position was as Head of Risk Management at PASHA Insurance OJSC, starting in December 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Expressbank as Head of Risk Management from March 2021 to December 2021. At Expressbank, they also held positions as Deputy Head of Business Banking and Deputy Head of Risk Management. Before joining Expressbank, Mikayil worked at PASHA Bank OJSC, where they held various roles including Acting Head of Risk Management, Head of Credit and Market Risk Management, Head of Credit Risk Management, Senior Market Risk Analyst, and Market Risk Analyst. Throughout their career, they have been responsible for developing and implementing risk management strategies, establishing risk management systems, creating policies and procedures, and developing quantitative models for credit and market risk management.

Mikayil Shahmirzayev obtained a Bachelor of Economics degree with a concentration in Management from Qafqaz Universiteti, where they studied from 2006 to 2011. In 2014, they also obtained the Professional Risk Manager certification from PRMIA - Professional Risk Managers' International Association. Additionally, they earned the Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) certification from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP), although the exact month and year of attainment are not specified.
