Platform Lead at Passenger

Alex Ross has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in software development and engineering.

Alex began their career in 2007 as a Server Administrator at UWESU and later transitioned to a Software Engineer role at Aviation Briefing in 2008.

In 2010, Alex worked as a Software Developer at SailTime before joining Freshleaf Media as a PHP Developer in 2011.

In 2013, they became a Senior Software Engineer at We Are Base, which eventually became Passenger in September 2019.

In 2013, Alex also co-founded PHP Dorset.

Alex currently holds two roles at Passenger, starting as a Senior Engineer in 2015 and now serving as the Platform Lead since May 2021. Alex'swork at Passenger involves delivering scalable digital technology to public transport operators.

Alex Ross attended Milford Haven Comprehensive School from 1999 to 2006, where they pursued high school education with a focus in Electronics, Computing, and Music. Following this, they went on to study at the University of the West of England from 2006 to 2010, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Security & Forensic Computing. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained a certification as a Zend Certified Engineer from Zend Technologies in October 2014.
