Lakesha Byrd

Lakesha Byrd has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Lakesha started their career at Priority Health in 2006, where they worked as a Medical Coding Coordinator. In this role, they were responsible for supporting medical coding functions and ensuring accurate reimbursement. Lakesha also performed Medicare Risk Adjustment audits.

In 2008, Lakesha joined Planned Parenthood Health Systems, Inc. as a Systems Application Specialist. Lakesha later transitioned to the role of Billing Manager, where they managed and supervised billing and accounts receivable departments across 12 locations in 4 states. Lakesha handled contracting and credentialing for insurance plans, prepared financial reports, and administered NextGen practice management system.

In 2015, Lakesha joined Patagonia Health. Lakesha initially served as a Senior Support, Implementation, and Training Consultant, providing support and training to users of the company's software. Lakesha then advanced to the position of Customer Engagement Team Lead in November 2020.

Throughout their career, Lakesha has demonstrated expertise in medical coding, customer service, billing, and practice management systems.

Lakesha Byrd's education history includes attending Western Governors University from 2018 to 2021. During this time, they studied Health Information Management. Prior to that, they attended New Horizons CLC from 2004 to 2005, where they obtained a Coding Certification in Billing and Coding. In addition to their formal education, Lakesha Byrd also holds several certifications. Lakesha obtained their CompTIA Project+ certification from CompTIA in December 2019 and obtained their Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification from AAPC in October 2006.
