Julissa Herrera-Batista

School Counselor at Paterson Public Schools

Julissa Herrera-Batista, MSW, LSW, currently serves as a School Counselor at Paterson Public Schools, where responsibilities include assessing and addressing the social, emotional, and educational needs of students. In addition, Julissa works as an Intensive In Community Clinician with Vidas Counseling Services, providing psychotherapy and participating in Child Family Teams meetings. Previous roles include Community Support Coordinator and Community Support Specialist/Family Support Specialist at Advancing Opportunities, a Family Worker at Gilmore Memorial Preschool, and various internships in mental health and child protection settings. Julissa earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Ramapo College of New Jersey and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a minor in Criminology from William Paterson University of New Jersey.
