Carl Fourie

Carl Fourie serves as the Deputy Director of Digital Services and Deputy Director of Global Goods at PATH, with additional responsibilities as a Senior Technical Advisor. Since May 2020, Carl has held the position of Deputy Director Global Goods at Digital Square within PATH. Prior experience includes over nine years at Jembi Health Systems NPC, where Carl progressed through various roles including Senior Programs Coordinator, Senior Program Manager, Programs Development Manager, Assistant Director of Programs, and Software Development Manager/General Manager. Carl's work has focused on interoperability, health information exchange, and development of open source technologies. Additionally, experience as a Business Owner at Telebox Communication Solutions and Forx Design reflects expertise in mobile data capture solutions and web development. Carl has contributed as an ICT consultant, and has a background as a Research Scientist, enhancing health information systems in low-resource settings. Academic qualifications include a Master's in Medical Science specializing in Medical Informatics and a Bachelor's in Computer Science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
