Derek Ellingson

Derek Ellingson, DO, is a seasoned pathologist currently serving at CellNetix Pathology and Laboratories since September 2024, with previous roles at PathGroup as Lutheran Hospital Laboratory Medical Director, and a staff pathologist/director of cytology at Lutheran Hospital. Derek has extensive experience as a pathology services coordinator at ASSOCIATED PATHOLOGISTS II, PC, and as a cytopathology fellow at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Earlier positions include staff pathologist at Alaska Native Medical Center and a tumor registry supervisor in the United States Air Force. Derek received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and a combined anatomic/clinical pathology degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. The educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Brigham Young University.
